No sewing (or weaving) this weekend - I am knee-deep in paperwork, going through my first experience of paying taxes as a (very) small business woman. Yikes, this is complicated! :(
In honor of the season, here is a lighter look at taxes:
"It's income tax time again, Americans: time to gather up those receipts, get out those tax forms, sharpen up that pencil, and stab yourself in the aorta."-- D. Barry
"Worried about an IRS audit? Avoid what's called a red flag. That's something the IRS always looks for. For example, say you have some money left in your bank account after paying taxes. That's a red flag."-- Jay Leno
[On completing tax returns].This is too difficult for a mathematician. It takes a philosopher
-- Albert Einstein
The difference between death and taxes is death doesn't get worse every time Congress meets. -- Will Rogers
Why does a slight tax increase cost you two hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut save you thirty cents? -- Peg Bracken
People who complain about taxes can be divided into two classes: men and women. -- Unknown
I hope your weekend has been more fun and less expensive than mine! ;)

Pardon me for chuckling at your topic and picture. I'm sure you'll do fine. I was a CPA in Florida for 17 years (well, still am) and can feel your pain. Do you have something you can summarize your personal and business transactions in? Like Quicken or similar? Good luck!
Today I will finish the taxes, while DH gets away from me on a kayak on the Tomoka River ... LOL
Eeeeeeew..... I still have to do mine. It'll probably happen sometime this week, once there's a time that my dad and I are free at the same time so he can help drag me through them again. Thankfully, he's a CPA, because I'm pretty much incapable of doing anything involving numbers other than counting music beats without getting a headache! Especially since I usually end up having to pay a crapload of money due to the quasi-self employment. :P
Also, one other lighter quote for you: the lyrics to "Taxman" by The Beatles. ;)
Take a deep breath. It will end.
my husband and his accountant take care of our taxes. I don't like having to pay taxes, but I sure do enjoy have good roads, safe bridges, and all the other things our taxes pay for.
