Friday Confession

Sometimes my motivation to keep blogging wanes... Do you ever feel that way? What keeps you blogging? How do you "recharge" when the energy just isn't there?

blogging really gets my sewing mojo going. I love to see what everyone else is doing, and it motivates me to keep blogging. I just finished a jacket last night, It will look better if I could lose 15 lbs.

There's a few reasons why people blog. Some for me - to help promote my business, to educate myself which is why I do sewing blogs. To feel like you're involved with events which is why I'm do political blogs.

I think the reason why so many news papers are going out of business because more of us are online getting involved where we can't with printed paper. Blogs have become the news paper where we get our information daily.

Blogging motivates me to try and make something everyday. I know that my family is waiting to see what I've come up with and that keeps me blogging.

It helps me take time for me every single day.

I just started blogging this year, so my enthusiasm hasn't waned just yet. One of the reasons why I started to blog was to motivate myself to sew more, keep me accountable as it were. I am not as prolific as others out there, but I hope to keep plugging away and keep learning.

Love to read others blogs but my own is very sporadically updated. I guess I'm lazy. If there isn't a photo to hand, I don't post, then when there is a photo later it seems like old news so I don't post. The less you update, the less people read/comment so the less you update - viscious cycle.
I originally started to blog to share crafts with other groups and as a record for ME for the future and I guess I need to bear that in mind - FOR ME.

I can think of about 100 reasons...don't worry I won't list them all here (lol)! I learn so much from seeing what fellow sewers are doing. I read blogs more than I post because I am so inspired by all that I see. I only post one or two times a week - it helps my Mother keep up with what I do - she loves seeing what I make and is my greatest encourager. In a lot of my posts I'm seeking help that thanks to ya'll always comes - I'm still learning. Blogging in this arena is an Education in it's self. I can't keep myself away from it.

I'm new to blogging and haven't run out of things to say yet. I learn a lot from reading blogs. It does eat up some time, but there are so few people who sew that this is a wonderful community to share ideas.

Can't help here...I am pretty hopeless at keeping up the blogging. You have a good system of blogging regularly but it does become hard work =(

I pretty much agree with Webfrau. I also need to remember that this is a record for me. I also need to remember that it is how I can keep up with all of my family without writing 10 identical letters and sending out dozens of pictures.

With that in mind, I wish I could have a system like you have developed to update regularly. I think it would make it easier.

My enthusiasm for blogging also comes and goes, but I do my best to stick at it. It helps to take breaks from it, like when I've gone on college tours with my daughter. I also keep about 10 or so ideas for posts in my drafts files so I"m not always racking my brain out.
