Weekend Project: Lady Bug Season

A toddling little girl is a center of common feeling which makes
the most dissimilar people understand each other.
~ George Eliot

I wasn't feeling great this weekend, but I managed to do a little bit of work on the lady bug dress for my vet's 2 year old daughter (whose favorite color is yellow). Luckily, it's an easy pattern. I should have been able to finish, but was tired and started making stupid mistakes, so I quit before making things worse.

I used a red hair elastic for the button loop.

And, remember the great white flower button I found?

The pattern called for a standard neck facing and bias tape to finish the armholes.

I'm debating whether or not to add a patch pocket with the red/paw print fabric.

What do you think? Would it be cute or too much?

I hope everyone had a wonderful sewing weekend and is ready to start a new work week and the month of May! :)

Knowing when to quit can save an awful lot of unpicking! I wish I had your wisdom.

Really cute! I would pin the pocket on and look at it for a while. You'l know if it's right.
