Are women allowed to have a mid-life crisis, or are those reserved exclusively for men?
Because I think there's one waiting for me in my queue...
My husband sailed smoothly through the big 5-0 as if it was nothing. In fact, he routinely says things like "What's the big deal? It's just a number."
I still have almost 18 months to go, but already I'm feeling the symptoms of an encroaching freak-out... Among other things, I'm considering letting my hair grow out (already started), getting braces, quitting my job and becoming a hermit living on the top of a mountain...
What do you think? Any advice from those who have "been there, done that" and lived to tell about it?
Because I'm afraid that I'm going to get to this one whether or not I want to! It's in the queue...

Been there done that. Let the hair grow - cut it back to pre 50 style. Decided to get braces until I found out how much they cost - decided to pass on that. Didn't have to quit my job - was fired. Now as to being a hermit.....
I'm only 32... so I haven't had one yet... but this is the funnies post ever and I do want braces... so maybe I'm heading that way. :)
I'm 52. Been there, done that!
Got braces at 39. Best thing I ever did. If you're like me and it's something you've always wanted and never been able to do but now can, as Nike says Just do it!
Due to an injury I wasn't able to work for a year. That was almost 9 years ago. Still have not gone back to work.
Let the hair grow. If you don't like it you can always cut it.
No advice from me-- I'm still freaked out that I turned 30 this year!
Colored my hair bright red. Bought new make-up and a bottle of champagne. Danced with my husband. And moved on.
