Friday Confession

After almost 4 years of publishing this blog, I actually have to search my old Friday Confessions to make sure that I haven't already used a topic before I post a new one... (And it is SO distressing each time I discover that my "new" confession idea is actually an old one.) But this is one confession topic that I can re-use every year! :)

We've already talked about whether or not you are sewing any of your holiday gifts this year. How about the opposite? What sewing-related gifts are on YOUR wish list? Anything big? A new machine? My sewing room is pretty well supplied (and COMPLETELY full!) and so my wish list is basically lots of gift cards for buying fabric and patterns and notions, oh my! ;)

Of course, what I really want is more time to sew, but I've been asking for that every year for the last 9 years and never received it, so I am not hopeful for this year either... ;)

I'm looking forward to hearing what gifts are keeping you on your best behavior these days!

My mom usually ends up giving me some fabric for Christmas, and I'm hoping for a repeat this year-- I've been super-good all year and mostly sewing from my stash, with the exception of a couple of necessities for projects where I just didn't have the right thing on hand. So I'd love to just get some new fabric for fun! I also wouldn't mind a new pair of scissors, since mine are getting a little dull and will soon have to be relegated to paper.

The only thing I want is one of the bendable lights that attach to the sewing machine. It's getting a little harder to see when I'm top stitching!

I would like the time to sew and be creative. I seem to have everything else!

Oh I would love to get some Doctor Who fabric. Or any fabric at all! I have been telling people for years that all I want is fabric but they have yet to take the hint.
Except for my sweet husband who gets me vintage buttons and notions.

My sewing room is well stocked, also. I do love gift cards for fabric stores, but I think sometimes people are hesitant to give them, thinking it's just an easy way out of buying a gift. Not so. I love to go fabric store shopping without having to think if it's frivilous. Just buy, buy, buy!

Actually, a woman I know that I consider my friend shows me occasionally what a great person she is (and that I need to extend the branch of friendship much further then I do, damn the reserve I can't get past), and sent me a gift card to buy fabric, and I intend on buying the most extravagant fabric I can.

I didn't expect to get anything for sewing for Christmas, and I never think of doing something extravagant like buying extravagant fabric.

I always ask for gift certs for the local fabric store and/or the sewing machine store. I want gift certs to help me buy the binding attachment for my Janome 7700 Horizon.

This year we decided not to make each other any presents so I don't expect any gift. However, I was considering to save up for an embroidery unit...but I am not sure about it. Do you have any experience?
