Friday Confession

My confession this week: I don't know what kind of give-away you would like.

In the last month, I've had 2 give-aways - one in honor of my 600th post and one in honor of my 3rd year blog birthday. (I know, it's kind of a pain that the 2 events fall so close together each year...)

So, typically I average about 70 hits per day on this blog. But fewer than 25 people participated in each give-away - even though each was up for a week and I posted reminders during that week.

So, my question for each of you this week - what type of give-away would YOU sign up for?

I would sign up for ANY Giveaway...seriously....but i guess that doesn't help you. I personally like gift card/certificate giveaways a lot, because then you can go pick your own.

I love sewing related gift cards/certificates that way I can select what works for me.

I just wanted to tell you that I don't sign up for anybody's giveaways. I live in an RV and really can't handle much more stuff. (I recently had to buy a trailer just to haul my patterns!)
But while my situation is a little extreme there are other folks out there that aren't into gathering. But a gift card or something along those lines is always popular.
I hope you don't think that not signing up for a giveaway doesn't mean you aren't being appreciated, for me I like to leave them for somebody else to enjoy.

I liked your giveaways. Think I entered one of them.

I rarely enter give aways! If the item on offer is something I'll actually use, then I'll enter, provided I don't have to write too many words to do so. Also, give aways are often limited to US readers, so being an Aussie makes it difficult - I won't enter unless the post makes it clear that OS entrants are accepted.

If the give-away is a gift card or voucher, I feel like I am just taking cash off people, so I don't tend to enter. Bundles of cute fabric and trims are fun. Independent patterns that I might not otherwise try also pique my interest.

I loved both your giveaways, but didn't enter. While I'm a regular reader of your blog, I've never commented before and didn't feel "right" about de-lurking just for a chance to win something.

I'm a lurker on your blog because I enjoy it very much. English was not my first language and I'm amazed at your creativity in helping people learn it. If only my mother would have had someone like you around!!

I also enjoy your sewing posts. I don't really understand why people do giveaways - please pardon my ignorance.
I read several blogs but rarely comment. I have no "techi" skills.

Thanks for sharing your time on your blog. Beckie O

I've only done one giveaway in which I actually gave something away to another blogger. I've given blankets that I made to our local Dept of Children's services in honor of my blog readers. I think giveaways are great and I've won a few really nice things, but really, I don't need anything all that much. I just like reading your blog and don't need a giveaway from you in order to keep reading it.

I don't read blogs looking to score loot. It's the content that interests me.

For me, it depends on what the giveaway is for. If it's for something I don't think I'll use or doesn't really fit my style, I don't enter so that people who would enjoy it more have a better chance. That being said, you've had some really great giveaways on here!

I have been a lucky winner of your generosity,so of course I think they are great! I don't think you have to have a giveaway but since you asked-- How about a set of your reference cards. Give them some extra "air time" and bring attention to them by featuring them in a post and create some enthusiasm! A little self promotion is always overlooked when freebies are involved. Just an idea. Corinne
